Strangers in town

I remember my parents advising me when I was a kid–‘don’t talk to strangers’. Anybody else raised like that?

    • Almost the same but not quite. In the Interlaken region is an old tale about an Augustinian monk, who took advantage of a young local girl. The tale goes that the monk was turned into stone as a punishment; and his face is visible in a rock cliff face (Hardermannli) above Interlaken. Once every year in January, a day is set aside to remember that misbehavior. That event is known as Harderpotschete. Sometimes people from other towns come ‘Krampus’-like and parade through the streets pretending to grab (in fun) young girls. Say no more. You decide.
